01
The five requirements for a normal level
P rank is more than a high score. For a regular Peppino level, complete these requirements in the same run:
| Requirement | What to check |
|---|---|
| Start the combo in the first room | Defeat an enemy before leaving that room. |
| Keep that combo alive | Do not let the combo meter empty before you finish. |
| Reach the S-rank score | The score threshold is specific to the level. |
| Complete the collection route | Enter all three Secret Eyes and collect the Tower Secret Treasure. |
| Complete Lap 2 | Use the Lap 2 portal and finish the extra escape. |
The five Toppins help your score, but collecting all five is not a separate P-rank requirement. A strong combo cannot replace a missed secret or treasure.
02
Prepare your route before chasing the rank
- Finish the level normally so you know the escape route and have access to Lap 2.
- On a practice run, locate each Secret Eye, Gerome, the treasure door, and the Lap 2 portal.
- Choose a repeatable order for those stops. Mark any point where you hesitate or backtrack.
- Practice those awkward rooms without restarting the entire route after every error.
Learn movement on the controls page and separate your collection checks with the secrets guide.
03
Keep your combo through the escape
Defeating enemies and collecting points refill the combo meter. Route through nearby pickups instead of waiting in an empty room. Taking damage puts pressure on that meter; a hit alone does not automatically disqualify an ordinary level run if the original combo survives.
Lap 2 repeats the escape without restoring the Pizza Time countdown. Reach the portal with a route you can actually finish. During practice, note the remaining time when you enter; compare your own attempts rather than using one supposed safe time for every level.
04
Diagnose an S rank that should have been P
| What happened | First thing to review |
|---|---|
| High score, no P rank | First-room combo and any later combo break. |
| Continuous combo, no P rank | All three secrets, treasure, and Lap 2. |
| Everything collected, lower rank | The level's S-rank score threshold. |
| Trouble after entering Lap 2 | The return route and remaining escape time. |
Change one part of your route at a time. If the run loses P-rank eligibility, it can still be useful collection or movement practice.
05
Bosses and special stages use different rules
For the ordinary ranked boss fights, P rank means finishing without taking damage. They do not use the three-secret, treasure, or Lap 2 checklist. The final Pizzaface encounter does not award a normal displayed boss rank; do not mistake its related Chef Task for a missing P-rank result.
The Crumbling Tower of Pizza and Secrets of the World lack the normal collection and Lap 2 requirements. Their P-rank challenge centers on the S-rank score and an unbroken combo. See the boss overview before applying a level checklist to a fight.
Questions
What players ask
Do I have to avoid every hit in a normal level?
No. The key requirement is keeping the original combo alive. No damage is the P-rank rule for ranked boss fights.
Will collecting secrets across several runs count?
It helps your saved collection progress, but a P rank requires its full checklist in the same attempt.
