01
Start with actions, then choose your buttons
Pizza Tower rewards reliable movement more than one particular device. Keyboard, controller, and Nintendo Switch players should first check their in-game bindings. The table below is a suggested custom keyboard layout, not a claim about every platform's defaults.
| Action | Suggested key | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Arrow keys | Keep directions separate from action buttons. |
| Jump | Space | Use a button you can reach while holding Dash. |
| Grab | X | Peppino's quick attack and movement tool. |
| Taunt | C | Also used for a correctly timed parry. |
| Dash | Left Shift | Hold it while building speed. |
| Enter doors | Up | Follow the game's interaction prompt. |
If holding Shift is uncomfortable, rebind Dash to another easy-to-hold button. Controller and Switch button symbols differ; follow your current game's prompts rather than copying PC key labels.
02
Practice Peppino's essential movement
Begin in the tutorial or a familiar early level. Keep the exercise short enough to repeat without a full escape attempt.
- Hold Dash along a clear stretch and notice how Peppino accelerates.
- Keep Dash held as you meet a wall to practice climbing it.
- Jump to a platform, then release Dash when you need a controlled landing.
- Use Grab on an isolated enemy before trying to chain it into a fast route.
- Repeat a doorway approach until you can enter without overshooting it.
The goal is to know which action you intended when a movement fails. Changing every binding after one missed jump makes that harder to judge.
03
Learn the difference between taunting and parrying
A taunt can parry an incoming attack when timed just before contact. Practicing against a predictable attack makes timing easier to understand than trying it for the first time during a P-rank run.
First practice avoidance. Then try a few deliberate parries against the same attack, checking whether you actually blocked the hit. Read the boss guide for encounters where attack recognition matters more than raw speed.
04
Turn the tutorial into an escape drill
Pick a short route with one horizontal stretch, one climb, and one door. Complete it slowly, then speed up only when you can repeat it cleanly. Add the return journey so you practice changing direction as well as moving forward.
For a P rank, movement must support a continuous combo and the collection route. Use the P-rank checklist once the basic inputs feel natural. Learning a room's exit is often more valuable than memorizing a complicated shortcut too early.
05
Check the character and input setup
The Noise is playable through the official Noise Update and has his own movement behavior. A Peppino technique is not automatically a Noise technique. Use the relevant character's tutorial before transplanting a route.
If an action fails to register, inspect its binding and test it on its own. On PC, then test the simultaneous combination you actually use, such as direction, Dash, and Jump. That separates a forgotten binding from a keyboard that struggles with a specific combination.
Questions
What players ask
Is a controller required for P ranks?
No single input device is required. Choose a layout that lets you reliably hold Dash and reach the other actions.
